While these are safe for human consumption, these bone-shaped doggie treats are much more suited for our canine friends. Made with recognizable (and yummy!) ingredients, your dog won't be able to get enough.

Bone-Shaped Doggie Treats

For the treats:
 1 cup canned pumpkin
 ½ cup peanut butter
 2 eggs
 ¼ cup Colavita Olive Oil
2 ½ cups flour (we used whole wheat)
 1 tsp baking soda
Cookie cutters (we used a bone shape)
For the glaze:
2 tbsp bacon grease or butter, melted
 ¼ cup smooth peanut butter
1

Combine pumpkin, peanut butter, eggs, and Colavita Olive Oil in a bowl. Add in baking soda and whole wheat flour. Stir to combine. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead the dough with your hands to make sure all the flour is incorporated. Your dough should be slightly fluffy.

2

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin.

3

Use a cookie cutter to cut out dog bone shapes or any other shape you would like.

4

Place the cookies on a parchment lined baking sheet.

5

Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven.

6

Whisk the bacon grease or melted butter and peanut butter together in a small bowl until very smooth.

7

Drizzle the glaze over the cooked treats.

8

Allow the glaze to cool and harden. For best results, place them in the refrigerator or freezer.

9

Share them with Fido!
