Every kid loves a tot! This recipe for Broccoli Tots are far superior to those super market freezer tots. First, they’re made from broccoli, giving you a sneaky way to add some veggies to your kids’ diets. Second, they’re made with love—yours! Don’t worry, they’re so easy to make and they come together in a flash. You can even freeze them for easy snacks and sides later on. And if their signature green color draws “yucks” from the peanut gallery, have them try it in our healthy ranch dressing and see if they change their tune.

For the Broccoli Tots:
 2 cups or 12 ounces uncooked or frozen broccoli
 1 large egg
 2 tbsp Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil
 ¼ cup diced yellow onion
  cup cheddar cheese
  cup panko breadcrumbs
  cup Italian breadcrumbs
 2 tbsp parsley
 ½ tsp salt
 ½ tsp pepper
For the Healthy Ranch Dressing:
 ½ cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
 1 tsp garlic powder
 ¼ tsp onion powder
 1 ½ tsp Colavita Aged White Wine or White Balsamic Vinegar
 ½ tsp dried parsley or 1 tbsp fresh parsley (minced)
 1 tbsp fresh chives, minced
 ¼ tsp salt, plus more to taste
 2 tbsp water to thin dressing
For the Tots:

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.


Combine broccoli, egg, Colavita Olive Oil, onions, cheddar, breadcrumbs, herbs, and seasoning in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until combined but still textured, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary.


Scoop about 1.5 tablespoons of mix using tablespoon and gently press between your hands into a tater tot shape and place on your prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining mixture.


Place the tray in the oven and bake until golden brown and crispy, 18-24 minutes, turning half way.


Serve with healthy ranch dressing (recipe follows).

Air Fryer Instructions:

Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 400°F.


Spray the tots with just a bit of Colavita Olive oil (about 1 tsp).


Fry in the air fryer for 20 minutes, rotating or shaking the tray halfway through.

Make the Healthy Ranch Dressing:

Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix until well combined.


Store, covered, in the fridge for up to a week.
