 8 oz fresh ripe strawberries
 ½ cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp Colavita Aged Balsamic Vinegar
 Colavita Sea Salt, to taste
 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
Grated chocolate or chocolate chips, for topping
 Whipped cream, for topping

1

Wash, dry, and remove the tops from the strawberries, then slice into quarters. Combine the strawberries and sugar in a medium bowl and stir to coat, then cover and allow to sit and macerate for 30 minutes, or until a syrup starts to form. The sugar will not be completely dissolved yet.

2

Add the Colavita Aged Balsamic Vinegar and Colavita Sea Salt, to taste, and stir to coat the berries. Continue to macerate for an additional 30 minutes to one hour, stirring occasionally to help the sugar dissolve completely.

When ready to serve, scoop your favorite ice cream into a bowl, then spoon strawberries and the balsamic strawberry syrup generously over the top. Add grated chocolate or chocolate chips and whipped cream, and serve immediately.
