Capellini with Classic Marinara Sauce

Colavita brings you the easiest Italian dish - Capellini with Classic Marinara Sauce featuring Cirio tomatoes. It is a classic dish that will not disappoint, and the perfect Italian meal for any occasion.

2 tbl. Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1/2 cup onion, small dice

1/2 tbl. garlic, chopped

1 28 oz. can of Cirio Whole Peeled Plum Tomatoes

1 13.76 oz. carton of Cirio Crushed Tomatoes with Basil

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

½ tbl. fresh parsley leaves, chopped

1 lb package of Colavita Capellini


1Pre-heat a sauce pan over medium heat.

2Add the oil and the onions, sweat until translucent.

3Add the garlic and cook until it is very aromatic and the garlic begins to lightly color.

4Add the tomatoes and the seasoning, bring to a simmer. Simmer for approximately 20-25 minutes, until the sauce has a sweet flavor and isn’t acidic.

5Taste and adjust the seasoning, add the parsley.

6Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once it's boiling, sprinkle in 2 tsp. of sea salt. Add the pasta and cook for the amount of time indicated on the package instructions. Drain and add to the sauce pan. Stir to incorporate and serve.
