Whole Wheat Chocolate Olive Oil Cake is a delicious dessert baked with Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Top with berries or a chocolate sauce for an amazing dessert.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch round baking pan.
In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, stir the sugar, yogurt, eggs, vanilla and olive oil together until fully combined.
In batches, mix the flour mixture into the yogurt mixture and gently stir until combined. Fold in the chopped chocolate and then pour the cake batter into the prepared pan.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

This was not at all good. The baking time was too long for my oven. We could have removed it after 30 or 35 minutes apparently. The cake tasted like stale chocolate bread. It was very dry. We served it with vanilla ice cream but even that when when melted was not enough to mitigate the dry and heavy structure of this “cake.”
