This is a simple and flavorful grilled recipe for outdoor BBQ's and quick dinner. The spicy and rich rub makes this delicious all year round.
2 tbsp Ancho chile powder
3 tbsp ground coffee
5 tsp dark brown sugar
1 tbsp smoked paprika
2 tsp dried oregano
2 tsp ground pepper
1 1/2 tsp ground coriander
2 tsp mustard powder
1 tsp red pepper flakes, crushed
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tbsp salt
2 16 oz boneless NY Strip Steaks
2 tbsp Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1Combine all the spices in a small bowl and mix.
2Coat the steaks with the rub on each side - use a generous amount. Press the rub into the steak.
3You can grill immediately, or chill the steaks for up to 6 hours.
4If your steaks have been chilled, allow them to come to room temperature before grilling.
5Heat your grill to high heat. Cook steaks 2 minutes per side. Remove from the grill and allow to rest. Slice diagonally and serve.
6Note: An instant read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the steak should read 120°F for medium rare.
