Maryland Crab CakesWhile crab cakes are traditionally associated with the area around the Chesapeake Bay, they have become popular the world over. These are Baltimore style crab cakes with the traditional use of Old Bay Seasoning for flavor and Saltine crackers as a binder. We omitted the final dredge in breadcrumbs and pan fry in our own extra virgin olive oil. This meal comes together in minutes and the leftovers can be frozen and reheated!
Lobster RollNothing says summer like a fresh lobster roll. And while the Lobster Roll’s invention can be traced back to 1929 in New England, it’s popularity just keeps growing in the present! Our version is a spin on the classic, using a fresh aioli made with Colavita Olive Oil instead of the usual mayo.
Shrimp and GritsWhether you call them “grits” or “polenta”, stone-ground corn makes a creamy, cheesy and delicious base for sautéed shrimp. The origins of Shrimp and Grits can be traced to Africa, and in the United States, South Carolina has become its historical home. Our version uses our own Colavita olive oil and diced tomatoes for a full, savory flavor.

Cherry Pie with Olive Oil CrustCherry Pie is Apple Pie’s summer cousin—just as American and just as delicious. During the summer, cherries are at their peak of ripeness. We recommend buying extra so while you make this pie, you can snack on a few extra sweet cherries. For this recipe, we’ve used our olive oil dough recipe. It gives this pie crust a subtle sweetness and shortbread like consistency which complements the cherries perfectly. Don’t forget the ice cream! Cobb SaladThe origins of Cobb Salad are truly American, if the legend is true. It’s said that the recipe comes from the Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant where the owner, Robert Howard Cobb, threw together the dish in a fit of hunger using whatever he could find in the kitchen. This glorious mix of egg, chicken, romaine blue cheese, and of course bacon is extremely satisfying. Colavita’s version includes blue cheese, but uses a lighter vinaigrette dressing made with leftover bacon fat for a truly Hollywood finish.
